Unnao: Tauheed Ali Brutally Murders 19-Year-Old Upasana, Her Body Parts Found Scattered Around in a Jungle, Tauheed Arrested

In a horrifying crime that has sent shockwaves across Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, 19-year-old Upasana was abducted and heinously murdered by a man identified as Tauheed Ali in Kabroee village of the Auras police station area. The young girl had gone to write her Class 12 examination on February 10th, but when she did not return home, her father, Hridaya Narayan, a home guard, filed a missing person report on February 12th. As the concern over her disappearance grew, authorities escalated the case to kidnapping, launching an extensive investigation.

As details of the crime unraveled, it was discovered that after brutally murdering Upasana, the accused Tauheed Ali returned to his home in Godwa village. Meanwhile, Upasana’s mother, desperate for answers, began searching for her daughter. In her attempts to reach Tauheed, she dialed his two phone numbers. The first number was switched off. However, when she called the second number, it was answered by Tauheed’s sister-in-law. During their conversation, the woman revealed that she had seen bloodstains on Tauheed’s clothes. When questioned about it, she attributed the blood to a fight with Upasana’s family.

Further revelations paint a disturbing picture of coercion and manipulation. Reports suggest that Tauheed possessed objectionable photos and videos of Upasana. It has been revealed that he used these photos to blackmail and force her to meet him in the forest. Upasana’s mother was already aware of her daughter’s love affair with Tauheed. Her father, being away on duty in Prayagraj, was not present when these events unfolded.

According to reports, on February 4th, Upasana had traveled to Auras with her younger sister. During this trip, Tauheed had arranged to meet her. He then offered to drop both sisters back to their village, Kabroee, on his bike. However, in a calculated move, before reaching the village, he dropped Upasana’s younger sister near Saraund and took Upasana somewhere else.

When Upasana returned home late in the evening, her mother, suspicious of her delay, questioned her strictly. At that moment, Upasana confessed that she was in love with Tauheed. Adding to the evidence of their relationship, a gift was also found in Upasana’s bag.

This was not the first time that Upasana’s mother had noticed something unusual. She had previously caught her daughter talking to Tauheed and had even taken the precaution of writing down both their phone numbers on a piece of paper.

The horrifying details surrounding the brutal murder of 19-year-old Upasana, daughter of home guard Hridaynarayan Gautam, continue to unfold, painting a grim picture of the tragic crime. She was kidnapped 10 days ago and murdered in the jungle of Talhi village. On Thursday, as police intensified their search, they made a gruesome discovery. Her school bag, uniform, ID card, books, and even strands of her hair were found scattered in the jungle.

However, the most horrifying detail was yet to emerge. Her left hand was found lying in the field of Kamlesh, a resident of Laharu village. This shocking revelation indicated the brutality with which the crime had been committed, leaving the entire community in disbelief and fear.

With mounting evidence, law enforcement officers sprang into action. The Superintendent of Police (SP) and Circle Officer (CO) analyzed the Call Detail Records (CDR) of the deceased and her family members, which ultimately revealed the truth. Realizing that his crime was about to be exposed, the accused, Tauheed Ali, a resident of Godwa Samad village, attempted to escape.

CO Arvind Kumar Chourasiya revealed that the police had set up checkpoints and were actively inspecting vehicles since nightfall. At around 1:28 AM, near the intersection leading to Laharu-Talhi village, Tauheed, who was riding a bike, panicked at the sight of the police and attempted to flee. When officers chased him down, he pulled out a pistol and fired at them. In retaliation, the police opened fire, hitting him in the left leg and successfully capturing him.

During interrogation, Tauheed made a shocking confession. He was in love with Upasana and had even bought a phone to communicate with her. However, a chain of events led to jealousy, anger, and ultimately, the horrifying crime.

After being given first aid at the Community Health Center (CHC), Tauheed admitted to the murder of Upasana. He further disclosed that he worked as a tailor with his elder brother, Tausif, in Hyderabad. His obsession with Upasana had reached an extreme level, and a few days before the incident, he noticed that Upasana had set her WhatsApp display picture (DP) to that of a young man named Pradeep, who lived in Chandigarh. This fueled his suspicions and insecurities. Following this, Upasana started maintaining distance from him and even stopped answering his calls.

The crime was executed in a horrifyingly calculated manner. Tauheed had arrived in the village from Chandigarh on February 3, but was unable to meet Upasana at that time. However, on February 10, upon learning that she had gone to school, he lured her into meeting him near the forest of Talhi village. When they met at around 10 a.m., she confessed to him that the young man in her DP was Pradeep and that she was in love with him.

What followed was a violent confrontation. A heated argument broke out between the two. In a fit of uncontrollable rage, Tauheed dragged her into the forest. There, he first strangled her before mercilessly slitting her throat with a knife, ultimately ending her life. After committing the crime, he abandoned her lifeless body, her bicycle, and all her belongings at the crime scene before fleeing.

The case has now led to further inquiries. The accused, who was injured during the police encounter, has been admitted to the district hospital. Meanwhile, authorities are also investigating the involvement of the second individual whose name surfaced in the case.

CO Bangarmau, Arvind Chaurasia, stated that the second youth, Pradeep, who works in Chandigarh, has been located. His mobile location confirms that he was in Chandigarh from the day of the incident until now. However, he has been summoned for questioning.

Adding to the developments, SP Deepak Bhukar confirmed that the investigation so far has identified Tauheed as the prime accused. However, authorities are also reviewing the role of the station in-charge in handling the case. A report has been requested, and further actions will be taken based on its findings.

The police have confirmed that her body had been scratched by animals.

After her bag, uniform, and one of her hands were discovered in the jungle, it was initially feared that her body had been dismembered and thrown in different locations using a sharp weapon. However, police investigation has not confirmed this speculation. CO Arvind Kumar Chaurasia clarified that the location where Upasana was murdered is a dense acacia forest. Due to the presence of wild animals, the body was scratched, and parts were found separated from the main body.

Sequence of Events:

The timeline of events leading to Upasana’s tragic end is now clearer:

  • February 10:

    • Upasana arrived at BJD Inter College at 8:30 AM to write her examination.
    • Just half an hour later, at 9:00 AM, she went to meet Tauheed in the jungle of Talhi village. She never returned from there.
  • February 12:

    • Her father filed a missing complaint, alarmed by her disappearance.
  • February 15:

    • As the case progressed, kidnapping charges were added to the complaint.
  • February 12:

    • After committing the crime, Tauheed fled and reached Hyderabad, Telangana, where his elder brother was staying.
  • February 13:

    • Tauheed, along with his brother Tausif, left Hyderabad.
  • February 15:

    • Both of them arrived back at their village.
  • February 16:

    • Police summoned both Tauheed and Tausif to the police station.
    • Tauheed was detained overnight, but was later released with strict instructions not to leave the village.
  • February 20:

    • At 3:30 PM, a major breakthrough was made as Upasana’s clothes, ID card, school bag, shoe, jacket, and her left hand were found scattered in the jungle.
    • That very night, Tauheed was injured in a police encounter when he tried to flee.
  • February 21:

    • At around 12 noon, skeletal remains, including the head and some rib bones, were recovered from the forest.
    • The bicycle Upasana had taken to school that day is still missing, but its key was found inside her bag.

Skeleton Found on the Second Day in a Forest Six Kilometers Away

Even after the initial discoveries, the police continued their search. On the second day, a combing operation was carried out in the acacia forest, located six kilometers away from Talhi village.

  • At exactly 12 noon on Friday, more remains were found, including the skull, ribs, and some bones.
  • This discovery has raised serious questions as the skeletal remains were found in the same area where Upasana’s uniform was recovered a day earlier.
  • The police have now taken possession of the skull and bones, which had already begun to turn into a skeleton.

With these discoveries, the charge of murder has now been formally added to the case, which was initially filed as a kidnapping.

Accused Tauheed Was in Constant Touch with the Police Since February 15

Following the murder, Tauheed Ali fled to Hyderabad on February 10 to meet his elder brother, Tauseef. By February 12, when Upasana’s father filed a missing person report and raised suspicion on Tauheed, the police began their probe. Acting on the complaint, they called both Tauheed and his brother Tauseef for questioning on February 13. However, the two did not stay in Hyderabad for long. On February 15, they returned to Godwa village.

As the investigation progressed, the police escalated the charges and officially included kidnapping in the case. The following day, February 16, both brothers were summoned to the police station for further questioning. After some inquiry, Tauseef was allowed to leave, but Tauheed was detained at the station for an entire day and night.

Despite the rising suspicion surrounding him, police sources later revealed that Tauheed had scratch marks on his chest, an indication that could have pointed towards a struggle. However, the police overlooked this crucial evidence and did not take any immediate action. Instead, the next day, he was released with just a warning not to leave his house.

This negligence raised serious concerns. If the police had pursued the investigation more aggressively at that stage, there was a strong possibility that Upasana’s body could have been recovered much earlier, and justice could have been served without delay.

Upasana’s Body Parts Were Found in a Jungle

The relentless search for Upasana led to a series of disturbing discoveries on February 20. During a combing operation, the police came across her bag, ID card, shoes, and even a severed hand in a field. The shocking find confirmed the worst fears about her fate.

The next day, February 21, police located more remains. Her skull and ribs were found scattered in a different part of the jungle. Authorities speculated that wild animals may have found her body, which could explain why her remains were discovered in different locations.

With mounting evidence pointing toward him, Tauheed Ali was arrested on suspicion of killing Upasana. However, when the police arrived to take him into custody, he attempted to flee and opened fire at the officers. In response, the police fired back, injuring him in the leg before successfully capturing him.

Tauheed’s Confession and the Chilling Details of the Crime

After his arrest, Tauheed admitted during interrogation that he had murdered Upasana. He revealed that he was deeply disturbed after she uploaded a photo of a man named Pradeep on WhatsApp. The sight of another man on her profile picture triggered his jealousy and anger.

On February 10, he called Upasana and insisted that she meet him. She agreed and brought her younger sister along. Upon meeting them, Tauheed offered both sisters a ride on his bike. However, before reaching the village, he dropped Upasana’s younger sister outside and took Upasana deep into the jungle.

There, in an act of sheer brutality, he strangled her and then slit her throat, leaving her lifeless body behind in the dense forest.

Family Suspicions and Tauheed’s Escape

After committing the crime, Tauheed returned home to Godwa village as if nothing had happened. However, his sister-in-law grew suspicious when she noticed bloodstains on his clothes.

Meanwhile, Upasana’s mother, who was aware of her daughter’s relationship with Tauheed, tried calling him to inquire about her missing daughter. When she dialed his number, it was Tauheed’s sister-in-law who answered the call. During their conversation, she mentioned seeing blood on Tauheed’s clothes, unknowingly revealing a major clue in the case.

Sensing that he was being suspected, Tauheed quickly left for Hyderabad to stay with his brother, Tauseef. He remained there until February 15 before finally returning to his village.

Police Investigation and Further Leads

According to the police, Tauheed lured Upasana to the jungle by blackmailing her with some objectionable photos or videos. Investigators are currently probing deeper into this angle of the case.

CO Bangarmau Arvind Chaurasia confirmed that the police have called Pradeep, the young man from Chandigarh, for questioning. However, mobile location records show that Pradeep was in Chandigarh at the time of the incident, making it unlikely that he had any direct involvement.

SP Deepak Bhukar stated that, based on the current evidence, Tauheed remains the only accused in the case so far. The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work toward uncovering the complete truth behind this tragic and gruesome crime.
