"नाजायज": Sarfaraz and his friend Imtiaz arrested in Bihar after they blackmailed a young girl, demanding Rs 30 lakh and forcing her to spend a night with him, threatening to release her private photos & videos online if she refused to meet their demands

On September 28th, in a shocking incident, the Jamui police in Bihar apprehended Mohammad Sarfaraz and his accomplice Imtiaz for a heinous act of blackmail. The two were involved in threatening a young woman by using her private photos, demanding not only Rs 30 lakh but also insisting that she spend a night with them. The main accused, Sarfaraz, is reportedly the girl’s ex-boyfriend, who took advantage of their past relationship by allegedly capturing her private moments through photographs.
According to the official press release issued by the Jamui police, the victim had filed a formal complaint on September 25th at the district’s cyber police station. “Sarfaraz was blackmailing the victim with demands for Rs 30 lakh and coercing her to spend a night with him.” The complaint further revealed that if she refused to comply with his demands, Sarfaraz threatened to leak her private photos and videos online, thereby causing significant distress and fear for the victim.

The victim, in a courageous move, provided substantial evidence to the authorities. She submitted a pen drive containing crucial information, including screenshots of WhatsApp chats exchanged between her and Sarfaraz, which documented the threats and the blackmail. This solid evidence allowed the police to act swiftly, leading to the arrest of both Sarfaraz and Imtiaz.
The case has sent shockwaves across the region, as the victim’s bravery in coming forward is being praised. The Jamui police, on their part, are being lauded for their prompt response and action in this sensitive matter. More details are expected as the investigation unfolds, but the swift arrests have provided some relief to the victim and her family.
Based on the victim's detailed complaint, the Jamui police registered an FIR and immediately launched an investigation into the matter. As part of the inquiry, the authorities discovered that the threatening messages sent to the victim were from a phone number registered under the name of Mohammed Imtiaz, who is also a local resident of Jamui. Acting swiftly, the police took Imtiaz into custody for questioning. During the interrogation, Imtiaz admitted to his involvement in the blackmailing scheme, revealing that he had been working closely with the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Mohammad Sarfaraz, in carrying out the crime.
Reports indicate that Sarfaraz had been in a romantic relationship with the victim in the past, during which he took advantage of their intimacy to capture her private photos and videos. After their relationship ended, Sarfaraz, along with Imtiaz, began to use these sensitive materials as leverage to extort money from the victim. Their plan involved demanding a staggering Rs 30 lakh from the victim, along with the additional, vile demand of spending a night with them. Sarfaraz’s actions were not limited to the threats; he was the one who passed the victim’s contact details to Imtiaz, enabling them to collaborate in the blackmailing effort.
Following a police raid, Sarfaraz, who is also a resident of Jamui, was arrested. In the process, law enforcement officials were able to recover an HP pen drive that contained significant evidence, including screenshots of WhatsApp chats exchanged between the accused and the victim. These digital pieces of evidence, which clearly displayed the criminal intent of the perpetrators, have now been seized and will play a crucial role in the ongoing legal proceedings.
Both Sarfaraz and Imtiaz have been placed under arrest and have been sent to jail, with further investigations currently underway. The authorities are diligently working to ensure that justice is served in this distressing case. The entire community is looking forward to seeing the legal system hold the accused accountable for their actions, as cases like this highlight the importance of protecting individuals, especially women, from such malicious schemes.
