Grooming jihad claims another victim, Greeshma, in Kerala?

A young Hindu lady who converted to Islam for marriage has reportedly died by ‘suicide’ in Thrissur, Kerala. The victim’s family called it a suspicious death and alleged that her husband murdered her.

Greeshma (25), a native of Perumpilavu, was found hanging in her rented house. Six years ago, Greeshma married a Muslim man named Rashid who is employed as a butcher at the local chicken shop.

Back then, the family opposed Greeshma’s marriage to Rashid. The Hindu girl later converted to Islam and accepted the name Rinsha. They have a two-year-old son.

Greeshma is the daughter of Njaalil Chandran. Greeshma’s family says that there is a mystery in their daughter’s death. They alleged that Rashid used to beat their daughter regularly and harassed her.

Rashid says that Greeshma did not open the door when he reached home. He claimed that he opened it with the help of his friends and found Greeshma hanging. Rashid is a native of Chiramanangad, 4 km from Perumpilavu.

Tehsildar M.K. Ajikumar and Perumpilavu station house officer UK Shah Jahan conducted the preliminary examination. Greeshma’s body was later shifted to the Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The police have started an investigation into the complaint of the girl’s parents.

Kerala does not have solid anti-conversion laws. Experts have long alleged that local administration and Kerala police have a habit of hiding atrocities against women committed by Islamists. The ruling green communists and the opposition Congress deny that grooming jihad even exists. In states like UP and MP, religious conversion merely for the sake of marriage is banned. Could a similar law have saved Greeshma?

Hindu girls urgently need to be taught about Muslim Personal Law and how sharia works – including things like nikah halala, triple talaq, polygamy – and how Islamists are schooled to view non-Muslim females. That would go a long way in ending the starry-eyed notions of ‘happily ever after’ rebellious romance seeded by all film industries, especially Urduwood.

How Kerala missed a trick back in 2009

In December 2009, Justice KT Sankaran of the Kerala High Court observed that he found indications of forced religious conversions under the garb of ‘love.’ After perusing the case diary in ‘love jihad’ cases and some police reports, justice Sankaran concluded that it was clear there was a ‘concerted’ effort to convert girls of particular religions (Hindu/Christian) to another (Islam) with the blessings of some (radical) outfits.

Quoting statistics, the court said 3,000-4,000 religious conversions had taken place after love affairs during the last four years (2006 to 2009). According to reports by a special branch of Kerala police, it was found that fundamental outfits like National Democratic Front (NDF) and Campus Front have roots in college campuses in various cities. NDF later morphed into the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI), but its agents continue to groom and convert, even today.

According to the material available back then, the strategy was to trap intelligent Hindu and Christian females from wealthy households. The court noted that the agenda allegedly began in 1996 with the approval of some Muslim organizations. Later it was proved that many radical Islamists used young fanatic Muslim ladies to attract well-educated Hindu and Christian girls. Many neo-converts even joined terrorist organizations like ISIS.

In 2009, Justice Sankaran ordered that the government consider passing legislation to forbid such deceptive practices. The court ruled that there could not be any forced, deceitful conversion under the pretense of love. Justice Sankaran observed that any use of force to spread religion was forbidden and might lead to issues with law and order. The court also denied Shanshah and Sirajuddin’s requests for anticipatory bail after they had eloped with girls of the Christian and Hindu faiths, respectively.

On its part, the government did nothing but allegedly encourage the radical Islamists to cater to their vote banks. Back in early 2010, the communists did test the waters, but ‘liberals’ quickly interfered. V S Achuthanandan, the then chief minister of Kerala, was verbally abused by ‘secularists’ for accepting that “love jihad,” or conversion under the guise of love, existed in Kerala. His opposers claimed that love jihad/grooming jihad was mere fiction invented by Hindu and Christian communalists. Congress leaders dubbed the CM’s statement as “deplorable and dangerous.”

We now have a situation where someone accused of beating and physically abusing his first wife is married to the current chief minister’s daughter and lives in the CM’s official residence. Although the minister, PA Mohammed Riyas, divorced many years back, the domestic violence charges were still being fought in court until they were mysteriously dropped a few days before Riyas and Veena Vijayan opted for a registered marriage.

Special guests at the June 2020 marriage (when the coronavirus was ravaging the state) included Riyas’ cousin, Mohammed Hashim, a man convicted in 2017 by the Supreme Court and sentenced to 7 tears imprisonment for the murder of RSS worker Ottapilavu Suresh Babu 24 years ago. Hashim came out on parole and attended the wedding at the Kerala CM’s residence as one of the select 50 guests. Following the 2021 assembly elections, Riyas was made a minister in the Kerala government.
