A few days ago, leftist news outlet The News Minute published an interview of alleged ‘fact-checker’ and Islamist Mohammad Zubair who was released from jail after having spent about a fortnight behind the bars for the crime of instigating riots and insulting Hindu faith.

The original interview that was published, had Mohammad Zubair telling how he was treated well and kept in air-conditioned rooms by the Delhi Police.

Soon, people on social media pointed how this had contradicted to the popular victimhood narrative of Mohammad Zubair being harassed and while he had enjoyed privileges in prison.

After this became a talking point, the leftist news outlet clandestinely changed the “AC room” in article to just “room”.

The reference to AC being removed raises questions about the intention and veracity of the interview itself.

Either The News Minute had lied about Zubair being housed in an AC room or it changed it after realizing that it was affecting their narrative of Zubair being harassed.

Given that the interview is in a written format, it is possible that the answers to the questions were verbatim.

It is highly likely that The News Minute clandestinely changed the updated article and removed the reference to “AC room” as part of its damage control and continue to peddle victimhood narratives on Zubair.

Mohammed Zubair, the Co-Founder of the propaganda website Alt News, was arrested by the Delhi Police for inciting violence which came in the light of him tweeting a mischievously edited clip of Nupur Sharma’s remarks about Prophet Mohammad.

He had also mocked Hindu Gods in his old social media posts.

Ameera @wokenbibi wrote, "So much pain for one Zubair Milord? What about the millions in jail waiting for their cases to be heard for which you have no time?"

Mohammad Imran Razvi @razvi453 mocked Yogi Adityanath saying, "The way Yogi Police was planning to keep @zoo_bear in jail for a long time as part of a conspiracy, Alhamdu Lillah! Today everything has turned into smoke with the Supreme Court's decision. Even the SIT set up by the Yogi Police has been dissolved. Yogi police had appealed to the court to ban Zubair's tweets, but the court refused to accept that too. This is a big slap on the conspiracy of Yogi Police!!"
