Moradabad: Minor Dalit Girl Gangraped, ‘Om’ Tattoo Burned with Acid, Salman, Rashid, and 2 Others Booked

In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken the small town of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, a minor Dalit girl was subjected to unimaginable cruelty. The police have taken action and arrested the main accused, a man named Salman, in connection with the gang rape case. However, the story doesn’t end there. Salman’s family has stepped forward, strongly denying all the allegations leveled against him. They claim that their son has been falsely accused, caught up in a web of lies spun due to an old rivalry with the girl’s family. Despite their protests, the police are not taking any chances and are digging deeper into the matter. The investigation is in full swing, with authorities working hard to track down the other three suspects who are still on the run. Meanwhile, the girl’s family has expressed their frustration, saying that the police turned a blind eye to their pleas for help when the girl first went missing, leaving them to fend for themselves in their desperate search.

The horrifying ordeal began in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where four men—all Muslims according to reports—allegedly kidnapped a young Dalit girl. For two long months, they held her captive, trapping her in a nightmare she couldn’t escape. During this time, the accused didn’t just stop at gang-raping her over and over again; they went further in their brutality. “They also forcibly fed her beef,” her family revealed, a detail that has added to the outrage surrounding the case. But the cruelty didn’t end there. “They burnt the girl’s hand by pouring acid on it to erase the Om tattoo on it,” they said, describing how the attackers deliberately targeted a symbol that held meaning for her. Even when the girl, weak and hungry, begged for food, “they forcibly fed her meat,” showing no mercy. Her family, heartbroken and furious, is demanding nothing less than the death penalty for the four accused—Salman, Zubair, Rashid, and Arif—all of whom hail from the same village as the victim. Based on the family’s complaint, the police acted swiftly to arrest Salman, but the others remain at large.

This tragic case unfolded in Daulpuri Bamniya, a village under the jurisdiction of the Bhagatpur police station in Moradabad. The girl’s family shared how their world turned upside down when she disappeared. “The minor was missing since January 2 and returned home on March 2,” they said, recalling the agonizing two months they spent searching for her. “We went to many places to find the minor, despite the report being filed, no help was provided by the police,” they added, their voices filled with pain and anger at the lack of support. They explained how they first reported her missing on January 3, followed by a second complaint on February 25, but nothing seemed to move the authorities. “Still, she could not be found. After this, she suddenly reached home on 2 March,” they said, describing the moment of relief that quickly turned to horror when they saw her condition.

When the girl finally made it back home, her family could barely recognize her. She was a shadow of herself—broken, frail, and unable to walk properly due to the trauma she had endured. The story she told them left everyone in shock. She spoke of the four young men from their own village—Salman, Rashid, Arif, and Zubair—who had turned her life into a living hell. Her words painted a picture of relentless cruelty, of being trapped with no way out. Unable to bear the thought of her suffering in silence any longer, her family rushed to the Bhagatpur police station and lodged a formal complaint, determined to seek justice for their daughter.

The officer in charge of Bhagatpur police station, Sanjay Panchal, confirmed that the girl’s family had come forward with their complaint. He shared the chilling details they provided: “On January 2, 2025, a 14-year-old Dalit girl was going to a tailor to get clothes stitched,” he said, recounting how an ordinary day turned into a nightmare. “During that time, Salman, Zubair, Rashid, and Arif kidnapped her in a car,” he continued, explaining how the accused allegedly ambushed her. “On the way, they made her unconscious by giving her intoxicants,” he added, shedding light on how they overpowered her before taking her away. The police are now treating the case with the seriousness it demands, but for the family, the wounds run deep—both from the crime and the struggle to be heard.

The nightmare didn’t end when the 14-year-old Dalit girl was taken away in a car on January 2, 2025. After being knocked out with intoxicants, she woke up to a horrifying reality. “She found herself in a room. She was not wearing any clothes at that time,” her family later shared, painting a picture of the terror she must have felt. Trapped in that room, the four accused—Salman, Zubair, Rashid, and Arif—didn’t show her any kindness. Instead, they took turns gang-raping her, over and over again, for weeks. They didn’t even care about her basic needs. “During this, the accused kept her hungry,” her family said, explaining how she was left weak and helpless. When she begged for something to eat, their response was cruel. “Whenever she asked for something to eat, they gave her beef and said that if she wanted to eat, she should eat this,” they forced her, showing no mercy. Then, in an act of pure hatred, “to erase the Om symbol on her hand, they burnt her hand with acid,” leaving her scarred in more ways than one. As if that wasn’t enough, they scared her into silence. “During this time the accused threatened the girl that if she told anyone about this incident then they would kill her and her family,” her family revealed, showing how they tried to control her even after all the pain they caused.

After some time, the accused moved her from that first place to another spot in the Bhojpur area. There, they locked her in a different room, thinking they had her trapped for good. But the girl, brave despite everything, saw a chance to break free. “Here the victim somehow escaped seeing the opportunity and reached her home,” her family said, describing the moment she finally got away. All of this terror lasted for about two months, from January 2 until she made it back on March 2. When she stumbled through the door, her family could see she’d been through hell. She sat them down and told them everything—every awful detail of what Salman, Zubair, Rashid, and Arif had done to her.

Without wasting any time, her family marched to the Bhagatpur police station and filed a complaint. The police didn’t take it lightly. They registered a case against the four men under serious laws, including the POCSO Act, which protects children, and the SC/ST Act, which deals with crimes against Scheduled Castes and Tribes. “One accused Salman has also been arrested,” the police confirmed, showing they were starting to act. Now, they’re working hard, raiding different places to catch the other three—Zubair, Rashid, and Arif—who are still out there somewhere.

But not everyone agrees with the story. Salman’s uncle stepped up to defend him, saying this is all a big misunderstanding. “Salman is being framed due to old enmity,” he insisted, bringing up something that happened two years ago. “Two years ago, Salman’s car met with an accident on Holi. Four people were injured in this accident,” he explained, adding that after that crash, Salman and the girl’s family got into a big fight. “The girl went missing two months ago. Salman has been staying at home since then,” he said, trying to convince people that Salman couldn’t have done it. Still, the police aren’t buying it yet and are sticking to their investigation.

The police officer in charge, Sanjay Panchal, shared more about what’s happening. “The girl’s family also alleged that the accused were threatening them to withdraw the case,” he said, showing how the family is still living in fear. The big boss, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kunwar Akash Singh, also spoke up. “One of the accused, Salman, was arrested on Tuesday and sent to jail. The investigation is underway,” he confirmed, letting everyone know they’re on the case. Panchal added that “the victim’s family had complained against 4 persons, Salman, Zubair, Rashid, and Arif,” and that the police have charged them under the right sections of the law, including the BNS, POCSO Act, and SC/ST Act.

This whole mess has turned the village upside down. People are angry, and the air feels heavy with tension. Hindu groups have hit the streets, shouting for justice and demanding that the police catch the remaining three accused right away. SP Rural Kunwar Akash Singh tried to calm things down, saying, “Soon the remaining accused will also be arrested.” Even Minister Jaiveer Singh chimed in, promising that “strict action will be taken against the accused,” giving hope to the family and others watching this unfold.
