Uttar Pradesh: Sameer rapes a 4-year-old disabled Hindu girl after abducting her from a temple, was out on bail after raping a 5-year-old

In a deeply disturbing incident in the Gnagoh area of Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, the local community has been shaken by a brutal rape. A 4-year-old handicapped little Hindu girl was the victim of a severe attack perpetrated by an individual named Sameer, son of Sajid. The assault took place in a secluded sugarcane field where, after committing the crime, Sameer abandoned the injured girl thinking she is dead and fled.

The events unfolded on the evening of 12th May, during a local Bhandara organized at a temple, which the little girl attended to partake in prasad. In a cruel twist of fate, during this communal gathering meant for spiritual nourishment and fellowship, the perpetrator seized the opportunity to commit his crime. He abducted the girl from this sacred space, exploiting her disability and inability to speak, to carry out his heinous act in a nearby sugarcane field where he believed his actions would go unnoticed and brutally raped her till she fainted.

After the assault, the girl's health rapidly deteriorated; she fell unconscious due to the severity of her injuries, leading Sameer to mistakenly believe she was dead. This allowed him to make a hasty escape from the crime scene. It's particularly alarming that this attack comes shortly after Sameer's recent release on bail. He had been previously incarcerated for raping a 5-year-old minor girl, showcasing a troubling pattern of behavior.

Authorities have responded swiftly to this atrocious crime, and a First Information Report has been filed against Sameer as the investigation begins. This incident not only highlights severe security concerns at places that should be safe havens but also raises critical questions about the effectiveness of judicial measures in preventing recidivism among violent criminals.

Meanwhile, the ordeal escalated when family members realized that the girlwas missing. Frantically, they initiated a search and eventually found her in a field in a critical state where she was bleeding heavily from her private parts. Without delay, she was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Given the gravity of the situation and the involvement of two different communities, multiple senior police officers were dispatched to the village to oversee the situation and ensure a swift response.

In a prompt law enforcement operation, the perpetrator, Mohammad Sameer, son of Mohammad Sajid, was apprehended shortly after the rape incident. He confessed to the crime during questioning and was subsequently arrested on 13th May. Legal proceedings were immediately initiated against him, incorporating charges under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act as well as sections 363 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertain to kidnapping and rape, respectively. Currently, the victim is under continuous medical care and receiving necessary counselling to aid her recovery.

During the time of the attack, the victim’s father was engaged in charitable activities at the temple, distributing food to the sadhus. A critical detail that emerged from eyewitness accounts reveals that some individuals did attempt to intervene when Mohammad Sameer was seen taking the little disabled girl away. He deceitfully assured the onlookers that she was merely sleepy and that he was taking her home to rest. Tragically, his assurance was taken at face value, and his deceit allowed him to carry out the brutal rape undeterred. This incident highlights not only the heinous nature of the crime but also the cunning manipulation by the Muslim perpetrator to execute his plan under the guise of concern.

The Saharanpur police investigation into Sameer’s history revealed a disturbing pattern of violent behavior. Records indicate that he had previously been implicated in a child molestation case. Notably, on 15th December 2021, he committed a grievous act of sexual violence against a 5-year-old child from his own village. In a deeply sinister maneuver, he lured the child to the ruins of a nearby area. The situation escalated dramatically when the child's screams attracted the attention of nearby locals. As people rushed to his aid, Sameer violently struck the child on the head with a brick and fled the scene. Miraculously, he regained consciousness the next day, though undoubtedly traumatized by the horrific event.

Following this atrocious act, Sameer was apprehended and incarcerated. He faced charges under sections 323, 377, and 506 of the IPC, along with the POCSO Act—indicative of the serious nature of his crimes, which involved assault, unnatural offenses, and criminal intimidation. A detailed account of the incident is documented in a complaint copy held by the media. After spending two years in prison, Sameer was eventually released on bail. Upon his release, he feigned remorse and made assurances to the local community, claiming he had repented and would not engage in further criminal activity. He managed to present himself as a reformed individual for about three months, deceiving those around him with a facade of decency. However, his subsequent actions tragically confirmed that his malicious inclinations were far from abated, as he once again demonstrated his propensity for violence. This cyclical pattern of temporary reform followed by relapse into criminal behavior underscores the challenges and complexities involved in rehabilitating individuals with a history of such severe offenses.
