15 individuals from the Muslim community hailing from four families, that had converted to Islam out of fear 18 years ago, have recently returned to the Sanatan Dharma through relevant rituals held at the Yashveerashram, an establishment known for the practice of yoga in Baghra in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district.

All these four families are related to each other. Unlike their conversion to Islam, their return to Hindu Dharma, the original religion of these extended family members, has happened voluntarily. Yashveer Ji Maharaj, the director and founder of Yashveerashram Baghra, shares that these people had reached out to him for this ghar wapasi.

All the 15 members are residents of the Binoli area and arrived at the ashram where Maharaj ji had already made arrangements for performing a Shuddhi Havan for them which marked their return to Hindu Dharma. They also chanted the Gayatri Mantra and participated in the havan.

The group consists of five men, seven women and three daughters of the family. The ashram administrator Acharya Mrigendra informs that their identities were not disclosed lest anyone terrorizes them again or causes any harm. This family, employed in menial jobs in the Binoli area, appeared very content after returning to Dharma.

One of the men said that they had been deliberating on converting back to Hindu Dharma for a long time; however, their dream has finally been realized because of Yashveer Ji Maharaj. Another ashram official, Mrigendra Brahmachari has shared that the names of all the 15 members have been changed from Islamic names to Hindu names, however, for safety concerns we choose to not reveal their former or new identities.

The Director of Yashveershram, Yashveerji Maharaj, has confirmed that new Aadhaar cards and ration cards will also be issued to all the individuals who have undergone the religious revert. In the same way, 19 people from UP’s Kandhla region had been reconverted to Hindu Dharma and provided with new identities, ration cards and Aadhaar cards last year. He further stated that over 100 people have contacted his ashram for performing the Ghar Wapasi rituals and return to Hindu Dharma.
