Husband Killed Along with Lover, Body Packed in Drum with Cement; Had Come to Celebrate Wife's Birthday

A shocking case has shaken the city of Meerut, leaving everyone stunned. In this disturbing incident, a wife teamed up with her lover to murder her husband. After the brutal killing, they hid the husband’s body inside a large drum and sealed the iron lid with cement to cover up their crime. The police have now arrested the accused wife and her lover, putting an end to their sinister plan.

This horrifying event unfolded in the Brahmpuri police station area of Meerut, where a wife and her lover carried out the murder of her husband. Once the deed was done, they stuffed his body into a big drum kept inside the house and cemented the iron lid shut. To keep suspicion at bay, “the wife kept messaging and calling her husband’s close people from his mobile”, pretending everything was normal. As soon as the police got wind of the case, they rushed to the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The accused wife and her lover are now in police custody, and questioning has begun to uncover the full story.

The victim, Saurabh Rajput, was a Merchant Navy officer who lived in London. Back in 2016, he married Muskan Rastogi, going against his family’s wishes. His job kept him abroad most of the time, far from his wife and their young daughter, who is 5-6 years old. Saurabh had recently returned to Meerut from London to spend time with his family. “Saurav came to Meerut on leave in February to celebrate his wife’s birthday with pomp and show”, hoping to make it a joyful occasion for his wife and little girl.

Saurabh lived with Muskan and their six-year-old daughter, Pihu, in a rented house in the Indranagar area under the Brahmpuri police station limits. The couple’s story began with a love marriage, but things took a dark turn over time. While Saurabh was away working, Muskan started a relationship with a young man named Sahil. Their bond grew stronger, and soon, “the closeness between the two grew so much that they hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Saurav”, plotting to remove him from their lives forever.

Muskan’s birthday fell on February 25, and their daughter Pihu’s was just a few days later on February 28. To celebrate these special days, Saurabh arrived in Meerut from London on February 24. He joined his wife and daughter for the birthday festivities, making happy memories. But on March 2, he visited his mother’s house in Brahmpuri, little knowing that it would be his last meeting with his mother.

Saurabh and Muskan’s love story started nine years ago in 2016 when they were neighbors. That same year, he joined the Merchant Navy, and they tied the knot in a love marriage. A year later, he quit that job and worked for three years at a plywood shop on Delhi Road in Meerut. Eventually, he moved to London, where he took up a job as a sales manager at a mall. Together, they had their daughter, Pihu, now five years old. For the last three years, Saurabh, Muskan, and Pihu lived in a rented house owned by Ompal in Indranagar, while Saurabh’s parents, Munnalal and Renu, and his brother Bablu stayed separately in Brahmpuri.

Muskan had a taste for luxury, which caused a rift between Saurabh and his family. In 2020, he landed his job at the mall in London, leaving Muskan and Pihu behind in a rented house in Master Colony, Brahmpuri. During this time, Muskan grew close to her neighbor, Sahil Shukla, and their relationship turned into an affair.

Muskan’s family lived nearby, and she often left Pihu with her parents. On the day of the murder, little Pihu was asleep in the next room, unaware of the horror unfolding nearby. The accused, Sahil Shukla, worked as a chartered accountant and lived close by. With Saurabh away for months at a time due to his job, “Muskan and Sahil grew close”, setting the stage for this tragic and chilling crime.

Saurabh had found out about Muskan’s affair with Sahil, and this caused constant fights between the couple. On the night of March 4, Muskan made a deadly move. She mixed something in Saurabh’s food to knock him out. Once he was unconscious, she called Sahil over to the house. Together, they stabbed Saurabh multiple times in the chest. After that, they used a knife to chop his body into around 15 pieces. They stuffed the pieces into a plastic drum and covered it with a mix of cement and dust to hide what they had done.

Their daughter, five-year-old Pihu, had just celebrated her birthday on February 28. She cut her cake with her mom and dad, smiling and happy, not knowing it would be her last birthday with them. Because of Muskan’s terrible actions, “Saurabh passed away from life, while Muskan went to jail”. Now, poor Pihu is left all alone. Right now, she is staying with Muskan’s mother, Kavita Rastogi. But Saurabh’s mother, Renu, is heartbroken and wants to take Pihu home, saying she is the last memory of her son. The SP City explained that Muskan and Sahil will be sent to jail for now, and soon a decision will be made about who will take care of Pihu.

No one saw Saurabh after March 4—he just vanished. Meanwhile, Muskan told the neighbors she was going to Himachal with her husband. But the truth was far different. “She had gone to Himachal with her lover Sahil Shukla to enjoy honeymoon”. Back on that fateful night of March 4, Muskan stabbed Saurabh while he slept, ending his life with Sahil’s help. The two worked together to carry out this cold-blooded murder.

Saurabh and his family didn’t get along because of Muskan, so he lived in a rented house with her and Pihu. Whenever he came back to Meerut from London, that’s where he stayed. Muskan and Sahil thought no one would notice Saurabh was gone since he was often away and cut off from his relatives. They believed they could get rid of his body without anyone asking questions.

After the murder, Muskan and Sahil worked in the dark of night to cut up Saurabh’s body. They packed the pieces into a drum and sealed it with cement to keep it hidden. Then, Muskan took off to Shimla with Sahil. There, they got married in a temple and headed to Manali for a honeymoon. They had already booked hotels online, ready to enjoy their time together. People say they even shopped in Abulane for wedding and honeymoon clothes. Every day in Manali, they drank beer and wine, living it up. After 13 days of fun, they returned to Meerut on a Monday and went back to their own homes.

When they got back, Muskan and Sahil tried to get rid of the drum on Tuesday morning. They wanted to lift it and dump it somewhere, but it was too heavy for them. Muskan then called four laborers to help, but even they couldn’t move it. An e-rickshaw waited outside the house for a long time, but the drum stayed put. The laborers eventually gave up and left. In the end, the police found the drum right where it was, still in the house.

Muskan went to her mother’s house alone after that. When her mother asked about Saurabh, Muskan dodged the question at first, talking about random things. But her mother kept pressing her. Finally, Muskan admitted the awful truth—she had killed Saurabh. Her mother and family were in total shock. That Tuesday afternoon, Kavita took Muskan to the Brahmpuri police station and told the police everything about the murder.

The SP City said Muskan confessed to her family about the killing. But before that, Saurabh’s brother, Rahul, had already filed a complaint at the Brahmpuri police station. Rahul said in his complaint that “his brother Saurabh had not been seen since March 7”. When he went to Saurabh’s house, it was locked up tight. On Tuesday, Rahul visited the rented house again, but no one was there. He called Muskan to ask about his brother. She told him she was at her parents’ place and didn’t know where Saurabh was. Rahul didn’t buy it and started to feel something was off. He asked the neighbors if they’d seen Saurabh. Then, out of nowhere, Muskan showed up with Sahil. Rahul demanded answers about his brother, but Muskan couldn’t explain herself clearly.

After Killing Her Husband, She Packed His Body in a Drum

When Saurabh came back home, Muskan and Sahil teamed up to take his life. After they murdered him, they placed his body inside a big drum. They put an iron lid on top and sealed it tight with cement. To keep anyone from getting suspicious, “Muskan kept messaging and calling Saurav’s family from his mobile”. She wanted them to think he was still around. But days passed, and no one saw Saurabh. His family grew worried and finally told the police something wasn’t right.

At the same time, Muskan’s father caught wind of what had happened. He couldn’t stay quiet about it. He went straight to the police and told them about his daughter’s terrible crime, bringing her dark secret into the open.

Now, the drum where Saurabh’s body parts were hidden was covered with cement. The police tried hard to break it open. They even brought in a machine to help, but after hours of effort, they still couldn’t get inside. In the end, they had no choice but to send the whole drum to the postmortem house. There, experts managed to crack it open, and they found Saurabh Rajput’s body inside. After this grim discovery, the police arrested Muskan and her lover Sahil. They started questioning them to figure out every detail of what happened.

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh shared that the police got a clue because of a bad smell coming from Saurabh’s house. When they checked it out, they learned “his body had been chopped into 15 pieces and sealed inside a cement-filled water drum to accelerate decomposition”. That foul odor led them right to the truth.

According to police reports, Muskan and Sahil stabbed Saurabh in the chest. Then they dragged his body to the bathroom. There, they used a knife to cut it into 15 pieces. They packed those pieces so deep in cement that the police couldn’t open the drum at the house. It had to go to the morgue, where they broke it apart. Inside, they recovered the body parts—his head, both hands, and feet—all separated.

The police also found out that Saurabh worked as a sales manager at a mall in London. He had six lakh rupees sitting in his bank account. Muskan and Sahil tried to take that money for themselves, but they couldn’t pull it off.

Police Initially Did Not Believe Muskan’s Story

When Muskan started talking, she told the police there was a blue drum with a dead body inside. She added, “I will not go there now”, refusing to go near it. At first, the police didn’t buy her story. Two officers rode out to the house on a Phantom bike to check it out. They found the drum, but they couldn’t see any body. They came back and told the inspector that Muskan must be making it up. The drum was full of dried cement, and nothing looked out of place. So, the police brought Muskan to the station in a jeep. She insisted that the body parts were hidden inside the cement.

During questioning, they couldn’t see anything in the drum, even when Muskan and the police were face to face. The officers told their team to bring in Sahil. They took him into custody too. When Muskan and Sahil sat across from each other, the real story spilled out. Both admitted that the drum, filled with cement, held Saurabh’s body parts. Only then did the police start to believe them.

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that “the accused wife Muskan and her lover Sahil have been arrested”. The truth was finally clear, and the police had the culprits in their hands.
