Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Maurya dynasty which ruled the ancient kingdom of Magadha from around 321 BC to 185 BC.
Chandragupta Maurya can also be said to be the foremost of the ancient Indian rulers who ruled over the maximum amount of known territory in Bharatvarsha (India). His territories extended from present-day Afghanistan-Pakistan to the southern Indian state of Karnataka and right up to the east as far as Bengal and Assam.

In times of political instability, insurgency or even religious conflict, the Bharatiya state’s inability to protect its citizens is well-documented. This certainly does not mean that the Republic of Bharat cannot protect itself and its integrity from external threats. The armed forces are well trained but won’t act against Bharatiya citizens and even if deployed, do not come into picture until most of the damage is done.
