The late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto once famously promised to fight a 1,000-year war with India. In the summer of 1990, his daughter Benazir repeated the same call. These were the controversial, and still historically contentious days when Pakistan is believed by many to have sent a nuclear threat, conveyed by the late Sahebzada Yaqub Khan, then foreign minister, to his Indian counterpart Inder Kumar Gujral. Seems the prediction has come true.
