On Sunday, the 7th of April, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) shared a brief video of their leader, Asaduddin Owaisi. In this clip, he addressed his followers, expressing his preference to live or die as a ‘Ghazi’. He called upon fellow Muslims to adopt a similar stance. According to Islamic scriptures, Ghazi refers to an Islamic fighter following the path guided by Allah. A Ghazi engages in combat against infidels, meaning those who do not believe in Islam. They either triumph over infidels and polytheists or meet their end in the midst of battle. This prompts the question: what exactly is Asaduddin Owaisi encouraging Indian Muslims to do?
