In a momentous verdict, the Allahabad High Court directs Mathura administration to rectify the 2004 land misregistration, restoring the sacred grounds rightfully to Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj temple, unveiling a truth preserved from ancient times

In a sweeping act of justice that has stirred the core of the nation, the venerated Allahabad High Court stepped forward to right an egregious wrong that had lingered in the land records for close to two decades. This move, which carries with it the weight of history and tradition, resonates deeply with a nation that takes immense pride in its rich cultural heritage.

On the memorable day of September 15, the bench, led by the discerning Justice Saurabh Srivastava, echoed the sentiments of millions when he ordered the Chhata tehsil officials of the historical city of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, to correct a gross discrepancy that had altered the very essence of the sacred land associated with the Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj temple. This fervent directive comes after careful scrutiny and acknowledgement of the trust's ancient claim, reinforced by unerring documentation and unshakable faith.
In a nation where temples have been the custodians of history, culture, and spiritual enlightenment for ages, this order to restore the land's title is not just an administrative correction, but a homage to the divine entity revered as Banke Bihari Maharaj. The temple trust, steadfast and unyielding, had been battling the illegal alteration that had been stealthily instituted in 2004. This illicit change, carried out by Bhola Khan Pathan in connivance with some revenue officials, replaced the holy name associated with the land, registering it as a Qabristan, a Muslim graveyard, instead.

The Shri Bihari ji Sewa Trust, Mathura, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice and truth, highlighting that plot number 1081 had always been an emblem of spiritual and cultural heritage since ancient times. Undeterred by the labyrinthine processes, they vehemently urged the court to direct the revenue authorities in Chhata, Mathura, to undo the 'illegal' entry that had egregiously replaced the temple's name with that of a graveyard.

On August 11, 2023, the prestigious Allahabad High Court had instructed the Chhata tehsildar to furnish an explanation regarding the modification of ownership details in the revenue records, a move that began the unravelling of a conspiracy that had lasted for nearly two decades. As the truth emerged, a seven-member committee from the Waqf Board corroborated the trust's claim, revealing that the land had indeed been incorrectly registered as a graveyard. Yet, despite this revelation, the rightful name had not been reinstated, prompting the trust to escalate the matter further, refusing to rest until justice was served.

In an impassioned cry for justice, the trust showcased an unyielding spirit that echoed the feelings of a nation that reveres its temples as the embodiment of its rich cultural tapestry and national pride. This monumental decision, therefore, doesn't just restore the rightful name on a piece of land; it rekindles a flame of reverence and national pride, nurturing the age-old bond that interweaves the people with their land and their deities.
As the nation stands witness to this landmark moment, there's a unified sigh of relief and a renewed sense of pride, as justice finally prevails, restoring honour and sanctity to a land that has been a beacon of spirituality and heritage since time immemorial. Thus, in a stirring tribute to truth and justice, the nation watches with bated breath as a historic wrong is righted, instilling a renewed sense of nationalism and pride that reverberates across the vast expanse of our great nation.
