Hindenburg 2.0 and India's Financial Future: The Hand of Soros?

In a world where geopolitical power plays shape economies and outcomes of elections, India finds itself at the heart of a potentially devastating financial intrigue. Sources reveal that a George Soros-backed group plans a critical 'expose' on Indian corporations. Could this be another instance of Hindenburg, reminiscent of the tumultuous events that preceded the Karnataka Elections?

"Hindenburg 2.0? George Soros-backed group plans 'expose' on Indian firms," read headlines recently, adding another layer of mystery to the unfolding saga. This alleged plan's timing, right ahead of the 2024 Elections, sparks concerns about a deliberate attempt to undermine the Indian Stock Exchange, risking the wealth of India's burgeoning middle class and potentially causing an economic downturn.

The very utterance of "Hindenburg 1.0" elicits memories of the chaos that assisted the CONgress before Karnataka's elections. Now, George Soros, after reportedly destabilizing the EU with wars, refugee crises, and economic upheavals, appears to be turning his gaze towards India. The audacious claim - "He wants Modi out at all costs!" - has sent shockwaves across political and economic corridors.

The Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), known to have the backing of financial heavyweights like George Soros and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, stands at the epicenter of these claims. Describing itself as an "investigative reporting platform," it comprises 24 non-profit investigative centres spanning continents. Sources intimate that this body might soon release an explosive report on select Indian corporate entities.

The years have brought to light a series of events that have both intrigued and confounded the Indian populace. Among them, the intricate narrative involving the Ford Foundation, certain prominent Indian personalities, and their allegedly intertwined affiliations.

Founded in 2006, OCCRP has a history of shedding light on organized crime. It proudly lists the Open Society Foundations of George Soros, renowned for supporting radical causes globally, among its esteemed donors. The list also features names of repute like the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and Oak Foundation. Yet, the exact nature of the upcoming 'expose' remains shrouded in secrecy. Speculations are rife about the involvement of overseas funds investing in the stocks of undisclosed corporate entities.

Recent history offers a grim reminder of the potential fallout of such exposes. The Hindenburg Research report of January 24 pointed fingers at accounting fraud and stock price manipulation, leading to a catastrophic loss nearing a staggering USD 150 billion in market value. Amidst these allegations, Adani Group, a major conglomerate, vehemently refuted all claims.

Further investigations into the Hindenburg report by a Supreme Court-appointed committee found evidence suggesting short positions on Adani Group stocks were ramped up before the report's publication. This revelation further stoked fears of orchestrated attempts to destabilize the Indian markets. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) identified suspicious trading activities involving six entities, further intensifying concerns.

Soros' subsequent remarks on the vulnerabilities within Gautam Adani's business empire potentially weakening PM Narendra Modi's governmental grip were met with vehement counterarguments by the BJP, viewing it as an affront to Indian democracy.

Amid these swirling controversies, one thing remains crystal clear: India's economic sovereignty and the integrity of its democratic process must stand firm against any external manipulations. It is a time of unity, vigilance, and pride for every Indian, as the nation navigates these challenging waters with resilience and determination.

Going back to 2015, the Government of Gujarat embarked on an investigation involving Teesta Setalvad’s embezzlement case. To the surprise of many, this probe led to discoveries that weren't solely restricted to Setalvad's financial dealings. The Ford Foundation had notably funded entities associated with her. Specifically, Sabrang Communication and Publishing Pvt Limited, linked to Teesta, had been granted a sum of $2.9 lakh by the foundation. The purpose? To "address communalism, caste-based discrimination in India, including media strategies".

These revelations did not sit well with authorities. In the wake of this information, the Gujarat Police took action, prompting the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to voice its intention of scrutinizing the Ford Foundation's operations in India. What followed could only be described as a cascade of unveilings, many of which the public would learn of thanks to WikiLeaks.

In a letter penned on May 26, 2015, titled "Ford Foundation in India: Notes to John Podesta," the Foundation broached the subject of its financial support to Sabrang Trusts, managed by Teesta Setalvad. Moreover, the correspondence hinted at another potentially contentious issue: Ford's funding to Arvind Kejriwal’s NGO prior to his political career.

But the plot thickened. Acclaimed Indian author and activist, Arundhati Roy, in conversation with journalist Sagarika Ghose, brought another dimension to the narrative. She referenced an article she had penned for The Hindu, highlighting the funding received by NGOs led by Kejriwal and Sisodia from the Ford Foundation, amounting to over $400,000 in a span of three years.

Roy's allegations didn't end there. She posited that the main management team of a certain movement, comprising ten individuals, were at the helm of well-funded NGOs. She drew attention to three core members who were recipients of the Ramon Magsaysay Award - an honor which, she asserted, was also financed by the Ford Foundation.

This connection seemed to become even more intriguing when one considered that NDTV news anchor, Ravish Kumar, was bestowed with the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2019. Further fuel was added to the fire when Christopher Brunet, in his Substack ‘KarlStack’, cited whistle-blower emails that painted the Ford Foundation in a less than favorable light, describing it as "a cesspool of intolerant and bigoted left-wing extremists."

As India processes these revelations, the quest for clarity continues. Behind every assertion lies a counter-narrative, and in the world of politics, finance, and influence, the true story often lies somewhere in between.

George Soros: The Billionaire Behind the 'Perception War' Against India

The year 2023 will be remembered in India's annals as one in which the nation grappled with a formidable 'perception war'. While multifaceted challenges presented themselves, one figure seemed to loom large over the tumult: Hungarian-American billionaire, George Soros. The recent events surrounding Adani-Hindenburg only fueled the flames of his longstanding criticisms against the Indian leadership.

On February 16, Soros made headlines by drawing attention to the alleged close ties between India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and business magnate Adani. He asserted, "Modi and business tycoon Adani are close allies. Their fate is intertwined…Adani Enterprises tried to raise funds in the stock market, but it failed. Adani is accused of stock manipulation and his stock collapsed like a house of cards.” Furthermore, Soros's charges didn't stop at corporate insinuations. He alleged crony capitalism and boldly stated, “Modi is silent on the subject, but he will have to answer questions from foreign investors and in parliament.”

In a move that sent shockwaves through the nation, Soros also hinted at the silver lining he saw in the stock market fiasco. He expressed optimism that the market upheaval caused by the Hindenburg Research report would pave the way for "much needed institutional reforms" and breathe new life into India's democratic spirit. However, his enthusiasm, many believe, is veiled in a deeper agenda.

Soros's perceived antagonism towards Modi and his administration is not a recent development. Over the years, he has orchestrated a vast network of NGOs, activists, and journalists, all seemingly united in their mission: paint Modi as an “electoral autocrat” and lobby for his ousting. But why? For Soros, it seems to align with his vision of the "greater good" for India.

Beyond the Indian shores, Soros has deployed international institutions under his patronage, like the Freedom House and V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) Institute, in what appears to be a concerted effort to tarnish India's global reputation.

This isn't the billionaire's first foray into large-scale influence either. Rewind to January 2020, and you'll find Soros pledging a staggering $1 billion to launch a global university. His ambitious project aims to combat what he sees as dual threats to civilization: nationalism and climate change.

As India navigates these challenging waters, the coming months will be crucial. Between deciphering genuine critiques and uncovering hidden agendas, the nation stands at a pivotal juncture. The hope remains that amidst these external pressures, India's democratic values and institutions will not only endure but thrive.
