"No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar": Supreme Court of India granted bail to Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair and Voilà!!! Senior NDTV journalist Sreenivasan Jain furnished a surety bond on his behest

Abhijit Iyer Mitra pointed out, "This is literally how NDTV avoids getting 'fact-checked'. Provides surety and coverage. This is the AltNews extortion model and the NDTV channel of record model"

NDTV journalist Sreenivasan Jain furnished bond for Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair

Two days after the Supreme Court of India granted bail to Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair in 6 cases filed against him across Uttar Pradesh, it has come to light that senior NDTV journalist Sreenivasan Jain furnished a surety bond on his behest.

The development was confirmed on Twitter by political commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra. He tweeted, “Confirmed! Mr. Jain did indeed furnish the bond of “close friend” Mohammad Zubair.”

As per the documents, Sreenivasan Jain coughed up ₹50000 for Mohammed Zubair whom he described as a ‘close friend.’ The bond paper read, “I, Sreenivasan Jain, hereby declare myself for Mohammed Zubair that he shall attend the Officer-in-charger of Special Cell Police Station…”

राष्ट्रवादी शिव सोलंकी @Shiv_Solanki007 reiterated, "Breaking News:- Sreenivasan Jain a journalist of RNDTV did indeed furnish the bond of “close friend” Mohammad Zubair. Don't be so shocked!! Kindly do your fact check. Note:-From today's onwards kindly use the real picture of the So-called ''journalist''.#zoobear"

“…Or the court of LD CMM, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi every day on which any investigation in the charge is made or any trial on such charge is held, that he shall be and re-appear before such officer or court for such investigation to answer the charge against him (as the case may be) and in the case of his making default herein, I have bound myself to forfeit to Govt. the sum of ₹50000,” it further stated.

Abhijit Iyer Mitra pointed out, “This is literally how NDTV avoids getting ‘fact-checked’. Provides surety and coverage. This is the AltNews extortion model and the NDTV “channel of record” model”

Last week, Mohammed Zubair filed a petition with the Supreme Court requesting that six FIRs filed against him in Uttar Pradesh be dismissed. His plea challenged the FIRs recorded in Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, and Hathras.

On June 27, Zubair was arrested by Delhi Police over a complaint filed by a social media user over his old tweets, where he insulted Hindu Gods and Goddesses. He was booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 153 and 295A.

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval, further says, "Interesting! The same two judges Chandrachud & Suryakant wanted more security for Tripura polls, but denied security for West Bengal polls. This despite horrific violence during the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections. Notice a pattern here?"

He also states in another tweet that "Kanhaiya lal was killed because of Zubair. Curiously, the day after he gets bail, death threats start again. If anyone else is killed, their blood will be on Chandrachud’s hands. The Nuremberg trials laid down the principle of command responsibility. Time to apply it to judges."

Srinivasan Jain, Group Editor NDTV signs Bond for Alt News fact checker Zubair.

But who is "Srinivasan Jain, Group Editor NDTV"

He is the son of Lakshmi Chandra Jain

Who is LC Jain? Indian High commissioner in South Africa.

Forgotten history

In 1998 after the Pokharan tests, India's high commissioner (ambassador) to South Africa Lakshmi Chand Jain openly opposed the nuclear tests conducted by the Vajpayee government. Just imagine the very fact that an ambassador opposed his own country on an issue as important and sensitive as nuclear tests in Pokharan, something which makes every Indian proud.

South Africa was strongly pushing its anti-India agenda at the Durban summit, emboldened by the very fact that India's own ambassador to South Africa, was opposing India's nuclear tests. It was Vajpayee Ji's instant action and Brijesh Misra's intelligence that reigned in the bully South Africa. The high commissioner Lakshmi Chand Jain was promptly called back.

In 2011, the Congress government awarded Padma Vibhushan - the second highest civilian award - to Lakshmi Chand Jain, who had opposed India for its nuclear tests in their official capacity as an ambassador and had gone against his own country's tests, which made India a nuclear power.

NDTV's Sreenivasan Jain, a known BJP-hater and the leader of the "secular" brigade who runs an agenda, along with the likes of Ravish, Pranoy Roy, etc.

This is the nexus of Congress, NDTV, and anti-India sentiments.

PS - After a columnist, Rajeev Mantri brought out the issue that Srinivasan Jain's father was LC Jain who went against his own country by opposing Pokharan (with proper references), Srinivasan Jain threatened him with "consequences". It's the same Srinivasan Jain who talks about freedom of the press being stifled under Modi and has done programs on the recent Punya Prasoon Vajpayee issue.

NDTV’s Sreenivasan Jain threatens to sue columnist for pointing out controversial past of Jain’s father

On 30th December 2017, news surfaced that Palestine had decided to recall its Ambassador to Pakistan, Walid Abu Ali, for sharing the stage with Hafiz Saeed. Columnist Rajiv Mantri quoted the news and spoke about an incident that was documented by many news agencies back when the Pokhran tests were taking place during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee era.

He wrote that an Indian ambassador had “disgraced himself” by “opposing India while holding office abroad in the aftermath of Pokhran tests”. He also asserted that Vajpayee had immediately recalled the ambassador and that “today his son propagandizes at a TV channel for secular forces”.

Mantri followed this tweet up with a news article to indicate whom he was talking about. He indicated that he was talking about Ambassador LC Jain. He quoted from the article saying “Jain was against the Pokhran tests and made no bones about telling the South Africans as much”. Mantri said that the ambassador’s son was none other than Sreenivasan Jain of NDTV.

Along with a screenshot of the Telegraph article, Mantri said that South Africa was planning to use the NAM forum in Durban to take a stand against India’s nuclear power status – South Africa’s supporters in this endeavor was none other than LC Jain.

Shockingly, Rajeev tweeted that he has been served a legal notice for the three tweets which spoke about Sreenivasan Jain’s father. Mantri tweeted that he had received a legal notice asking him to delete the three tweets from 2017 or face consequences. His surprise was amplified because he had simply quoted a Telegraph article which was written then by senior journalist KP Nayar.

Mantri rightly pointed out that this case fails the litmus test of defamation considering he had only sourced an article written by a senior journalist. He was also shocked that a senior and powerful journalist like Sreenivasan Jain was stifling the voice of a common citizen. Mantri also said that he is seeking legal advice on how to proceed.

Ironically, this legal notice sent to Mantri on flimsy grounds comes when Sreenivasan Jain himself has been crying hoarse about the “censorship at ABP news”, which we said could possibly be about the journalists who were made to leave for peddling wildly fake news.

He had recently tweeted that the exit of PP Bajpai and Milind Khandekar from ABP is “by all accounts, yet another casualty of daring to speak truth to power”.

He even retweeted a tweet that claimed that the two journalists had quit after they “ran a story on a woman in Chattisgarh being tutored to make false claims in an interaction with Modi”. This programme by PP Bajpai about Chattisgarh was in reality, a blatant lie and full of fabrications as we had proved here.

Curious case of Zubair

It was indeed ironic that Sreenivasan Jain was threatening to sue a common citizen for quoting from an article while concocting stories about how ABP news was hounded for “speaking truth to power”. The hypocrisy of ‘Mr. Chotta Mota blast’ is of course not new. Earlier, Sreenivasan Jain had edited some portions of an interview with Yoga guru Ramdev Baba and was called out. He had also dissected the Jan Dhan Yojana with half understanding. He had defended the corrupt and had also been called out for his ‘journalism of sensationalism’.

Perhaps Sreenivasan Jain is allergic to facts or maybe, he likes “truth to be spoken to power” as long as the “truth” fits his agenda and the person wielding the power isn’t him. Meanwhile, support has been pouring in for Rajeev Mantri.
